A joint fundraiser took place last weekend at Fairlie Parish Church.

It was the annual event to raise funds for The Semple Centre in Fairlie and Haylie House Residential Care Home in Largs.

There were plenty of enthusiastic helpers on the day as you can see from the photos with some great bargains to be had in the stalls.

The Semple Centre in Fairlie is one of the hidden gems in the village, and is well used by a number of local groups.

Secretary Maggie Telfer is hoping that more groups can use the Main Street facility which celebrates the memory of Dugald Semple - a Scottish advocate of' simple living', a naturalist and prolific author.

The premises are now used by the bridge club, a meditation group, the snooker club and a community singing group.

It is also the venue for the art club and Fairlie resident groups.

Haylie House Residential Care Home in Largs has an excellent reputation for the calibre and professionalism of its staff, its high residential standards and the outstanding quality of care.

A total of £975 was raised on the day and organiser Maggie Telfer would like to thank everyone for coming despite the dreary weather - with plenty of good food and conversation to lift the spirits!
