RESIDENTS are being advised to prepare for plummeting temperatures as a weather warning for ice has been cast over Sussex.

The Met Office has warned people to expect temperatures to drop to 3C, but experts says it will "feel like -3C" with freezing winds whipping across the county.

The yellow eather warning is in place from midnight to 10am tomorrow.

A spokesman said: "Icy stretches are likely to bring some travel disruption overnight and into Wednesday morning."

He told people to expect "some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces" and "probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths".

A weather warning for snow and ice has been issued over other parts of the country, with cities as far south as Cardiff included in the alert.

This warning is in place from 8pm today to 10am tomorrow.
