Here's a novel concept!
School children got the opportunity to dress up for World Book Day recently as their favourite characters.
Largs Academy even hosted an Oscars styled ceremony 'R Oscars' to celebrate the date - The Reading Oscars.
Head teacher John Doherty, who is pictured with the pupils, said: " We are proud to have such avid readers in our school.
"Well done to everyone and a special thanks to the Parent Council for their support." Largs Primary were in wonderland as they donned costumes of their heroes from favourite books from Fantastic Mr Fox to the Mad Hatter, with Where's Wally proving to be popular too.
Thank you goes to Morrisons Supermarket for providing a great selection of books for the children on the day.
