A prominent Largs cafe has announced it is closing his doors on Sunday after concerns that visitors were not heeding advice from the government over social distancing.

There have been many concerns raised today about the large amounts of people on the prom.

Claudio Nardini, co-owner at Nardinis at the Moorings is urging people to stay safe.

He said: "After the government annoucement yesterday, we decided to remain open to provide a takeaway service for what I thought would be a few people grabbing the opportunity to appreciate a walk along Largs prom.

"Seeing the prom rammed with people and dozens of cars queuing for the ferry today like nothing was out of the ordinary really saddened me.

"For this reason we have decided to completely close this evening until this whole thing blows over."

"Please please please stay at home if you can."

Councillor Alex Gallagher has also warned people to follow the government advice on social distancing - here
