Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Centre are appealing to the public to help them during the current Covid19 pandemic after the loss of one of their major fundraising events this year.

A spokesman for the nature reserve said: "As you all know this pandemic is making life difficult for a lot of people, and we are certainly not excluded.

"We have had to cancel our open day this year, one of our main fundraisers.

"So if you have a moment please consider nominating us for a Movement For Good award where we are in with a chance to win £1000.

"The more people who nominate us the better, and it really only does take a second. All you have to do is follow the link and input our Charity Number: SC004506 via movementforgood.com/#nominateACharity

"A massive thank you from all of the volunteers and staff at Hessilhead for everyone's continued support!"

Hessilhead cares for Scotland's injured and orphaned wildlife and has been running for over 25 years.
