OVER 300 members will be teeing off at Largs Golf Club this weekend as play returns following lockdown.

Play returns on Friday 29 May with members having been briefed on another new etiquette on the greens - social distancing.

Despite the lockdown, the club have actually gained additional new members and bosses thanked the current membership for its support during the closure.

Members will be teeing off every 10 minutes throughout this coming weekend which is set to enjoy good weather.

Club manager Jim Callaghan said: "All our golfers have been briefed on social distancing and will abide by the Scottish Government and Scottish Golf guidelines for the safe return of the sport.

"Iain Barr, our course manager and his greens team have done an outstanding job of getting the course ready. We are lucky to have such great staff.

"The club also wishes to pay tribute to its membership who have continued to support the club during the pandemic.

"Thank you to each and every one of our members for their support."

The golf club have also received 18 new membership applications during the breakdown.
