Please give blood this summer.

That is the message from Cunninghame North MSP Kenneth Gibson who has urged everyone to make an extra special effort to give blood.

Kenneth said: "If you are fit and well and have not been impacted by COVID-19, it's important to come forward to donate.

"Giving blood is classed as an essential activity and the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service takes great care to minimise any risk of harm to donors or patients."

As such, there are currently some extra restrictions on who can donate due to COVID-19. Full details can be found at www.scotblood.co.uk but please make sure to attend alone and give blood if you are aged 17-69, if you already give blood, 17-66 if you have not donated before.

You can give blood at The Dunn Memorial Hall, Bath Street Largs, on 13 July from 1.30pm till 3.30pm and 5pm till 7pm.

This session is now run by appointment. You can make an appointment to give blood by calling 0345 90 90 999 (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm), or email nss.snbtsenquiry@nhs.net
