The much anticipated Fiddler on the Roof production has been delayed to a year after its original show date because of the Covid19 situation.

The Largs Amateur Operatic Society's big show had been pencilled in for October but has been pushed back again to March 2021.

President Fiona Page said: "The production team and committee have continued to watch the development of COVID19 and its effect in Scotland. They have continued to monitor the guidelines from government and local agencies.

"The welfare of the cast and crew, production team, musicians and the patrons who will support the club in the audience for 'Fiddler of the Roof' is their top priority.

"They also have concern for the volunteers front of house and the KA Leisure staff.

"The production was set to be performed from Wednesday 7th to Saturday 10th October 2020.

"The most recent advice has led the production team and committee to take the decision to further postpone the production until March 2021. It is hoped that theatres will be able to re-open their doors by then."

The official new dates are as follows: Wednesday 24th March 2021 at 7.30pm, Thursday 25th March 2021 at 7.30pmm Friday 26th March 2021at 7.30pm Saturday 27th March 2021 at 2.30pm (matinee performance), Saturday 27th March 2021at 7.30pm.

All tickets will remain valid and transferable to the new dates.

Anyone wishing to cancel their booking will receive a refund.

"We look forward to seeing all our patrons in Barrfields in March 2021."
