It is a new chapter for the station bookshop at Wemyss Bay which re-opened this week.

Friends of Wemyss Bay Station look forward to serving customers again - but there will be some differences.

The shop is open Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm and on Saturday from 11am until 3pm.

There is a one-way system through the shop and customers need to be careful to maintain social distancing.

It may not be necessary for everyone to come in, because there is a fiction display outside the shop, with an ‘honesty box’ for payment.

Customers are reminded that they must wear a face covering in shops, unless they have a legal exemption.

In addition, visitors are requested to wear disposable gloves or use hand sanitiser, which the Friends will provide, before handling any books.

The Friends are now able to accept payment by credit or debit card for amounts of £5 or more, and this is encouraged.

Shop manager Sheena Inglis said “We have all missed seeing our customers and look forward to welcoming them back”.
