The North Ayrshire Council Labour Group have thanked community groups on the frontline by donating £500 to North Coast Foodbank.

It is a part of a council wide initiative which is giving out £6000 to foodbanks all over the region.
The North Coast foodbank, which operates on Thursdays from the Clark Memorial Church in Largs, also serves Fairlie, Millport and Skelmorlie.
Labour councillor Alex Gallagher said: “North Ayrshire Labour group would want to thank all the community groups who have supported our constituents through this crisis.
“We are indebted to these groups, and the individual volunteers involved, for their hard work and dedication and we wanted to show our appreciation by making a financial donation to support their efforts. "We are aware that Largs Food Bank has carried out much needed work in the area for a number of years and the volunteers really do deserve our thanks and support."
“We hope that the money makes a difference and we will continue to support residents in the weeks and months to come.”
Simon Dell of Largs Foodbank said: "We would like to thank the North Ayrshire Group of Labour Councillors for their generous donation which will enable us to continue to supply emergency food aid during the Coronavirus pandemic."
