There is a busy ferry queue waiting to board the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Cumbrae.
Reports were emerging at 11.30am today that the queue went as far as Benedictine Monastery at Mackerston.
At at 12.10pm, Cal Mac issued the following guidance for travellers.
A Cal Mac spokesman said: "Due to volume of traffic there is at least two hours wait at Largs for vehicles and around 30 mins for foot passengers.
"We are operating a reduced timetable with limited capacity, therefore please consider your travel so capacity is available for key workers and island residents."
At 1pm, the wait for vehicles was reduced to one hour.
