A jet-ski blew out to the sea after it had blown away due to easterly winds.
The drama happened at the water's edge at Largs seafront on Sunday August 9 at 11.15am - even resulting in assistance from a nearby fishing vessel and the Cal Mac ferry.
The owner could not catch up with it as an onlooker thought he was waving for help and called the coastguard.
A small lobster pot fishing boat heard a radio message and in turn responded along with the Cal Mac Ferry Loch Riddon. As the lifeboat arrived on scene the small lobster pot boat had stopped the jet ski from travelling further, allowing the owner to climb back on.
The volunteer lifeboat crew escorted the owner and his ski back to nearby Cairnie’s Quay where the local shore based coastguard team checked him over.
