Largs Lifeboat launched at 8.30pm on Sunday evening following reports of yacht drifting without power one nautical mile south of Wemyss Bay.

The RNLI lifeboat with its volunteer crew located the vessel and took it in tow towards Inverkip Marina.

During this tow the lifeboat was advised of a further yacht experiencing a similar problem around the same area. The lifeboat continued to tow the initial casualty into the marina where assistance was provided in berthing then returned and carried out the same with the second casualty vessel and again assisting in berthing the craft and landing the occupants in Inverkip Marina.

The lifeboat then returned to Largs, crew and boat subjected to Covid19 protocols and the boat rehoused at 11.59pm ready for its next service
