CUMBRAE is set to play host to a hit TV series with production crews filming at the island’s Field Studies Centre.

The unnamed show is being made by the same people who created BBC police drama Line of Duty, which stars Greenock’s Martin Compston.

Some members of staff at Millport FSC are even going to appear on the small screen but little else is known about the show so far.

Alex MacFie, head of centre at the Millport facility, says she has been sworn to secrecy over the project.

She said: “I can’t say anything really, but they are using some of our facilities and some of our team. We are very excited.”

Alex also says the team behind the series have visited the island 'multiple times' ahead of shooting and have a few more trips planned in the coming weeks and months.

The North Coast has been a hotspot for TV and film shooting over the last few years, with scenes from big budget Outlaw King, starring Chris Pine, filmed at Portencross.

More recently in 2018, scenes for dramas Shetland and The Victim were filmed in and around Largs.
