Key items will be limited at Tesco Express in Largs to discourage bulk buying following the latest coronavirus restrictions.

The supermarket has announced it will restrict people from buying large quantities of flour, pasta, toilet rolls and anti-bacterial wipes, including at their Aitken Street store.

Some empty shelves have been pictured in the last few days similar to scenes in March when the country first entered lockdown.

Morrisons was the first supermarket to introduce limits on items yesterday, with others expected to follow in the coming days.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “We have got good availability with plenty of stock to go round, and we would encourage our customers to shop as normal.

“To ensure that everyone can keep buying what they need, we have introduced bulk-buy limits on a small number of products.”
