GETTING active is at the heart of two new projects which have recently opened in Largs.
The new outdoor gym areas at Cairnie's Quay and Aubery are already proving popular.
The new facilities have been campaigned for by Largs Community Council, with assistance from North Ayrshire Council.
Outgoing chairman Anne Carson said: "I am delighted to have facilitated the funding and installations of the new adult outdoor gyms at either end of the promenade.
"This was something Patricia Perman fought for over many years and I am pleased we finally got there.
"It will be a good, additional exercise opportunity for those who frequent the promenade and another positive feature for Largs."
Ms Perman added: "I think it is great to have something like this in the town. It will be a real asset to Largs and local people.
"It is something that people of all ages can use and take advantage of. "
