Hungry diners flocked to Scotts at Largs Yacht Haven to take advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme.

More than 5,000 took advantage of the government-backed scheme gave customers 50 per cent off food and drinks up to the value of £10, before the offer ended on August 31.

Across North Ayrshire, more than 50,000 meals were discounted through the scheme, saving diners an average of £6.44 per customer.

Scotts extended the scheme to their benefit card holders only through September, with more than 800 heading to the restaurant to redeem the discount.

Kenny Blair, Buzzworks Holdings MD, said:  “I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us and dined with us recently, it really has been fantastic and extending this deal is our thank you to our loyal customers.

“We’ll also continue to reward our Benefit Card holders with more exclusive offers over the coming months.”

Across Scotland, more than 6.3 million meals were enjoyed by diners at a discounted price, including from 87 eateries in North Ayrshire.
