TRIBUTES have been paid to the victims of a horrific crash on the M8 which claimed two lives. 

Allison and David Campbell, were killed after their BMW hit a barrier on the motorway near to Great Western Road. 

Allison, 51, taught at Hillview Primary School in Barrhead and David, 54 was a well-loved member of Paisley Golf Club.

Parents reacted on social media to the news of Allison's death. 

Pamela Christine wrote: "Heartbreaking. She taught my son in primary one and also was in school when I started. 

"She was a lovely women my heart goes out to her family. Mrs Campbell will be sadly missed by her pupils."

Deborah Jardine also had a child who was taught by Allison. 

She said: "So sad, such a lovely lady. She taught my daughter in primary one."

Melanie McGurren, acting head teacher at Hillview Primary told the Paisley Daily Express: "The whole school community is absolutely devastated at the loss of such a loved member of our Hillview family.

"Alison will be missed by everyone at Hillview Primary, where she was a valued and dedicated teacher for many years.”

Alan Clark, a member of the Paisley Golf Club where David was Vice Captain, said that he was "absolutely devastated" by the tragic news. 

Sergeant John Bradford from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with David and Allison’s family at this sad time. 

"Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or have any information that could assist with our enquiries to get in touch."
