THE 700-plus strong membership of the Opportunities in Retirement group in Largs have missed out on a number of events due to the pandemic.

However a number of meetings and activities have now moved online on to Zoom .

Chairman Jean Stewart explained the situation and says the group hopes to resume normal service as soon as possible.

She added: "This is the time of year when thoughts turn to autumn and winter programmes.

"Unfortunately, due to the continuing Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to offer our full range of activities but several of our groups are meeting remotely via Zoom and Skype.

"Our sincere thanks to all members for having renewed subscription."

Jean said the Wednesday short walks group and the Saturday hill walk have been temporarily suspended.

She added: "We are still not permitted to re-open the office, but if anyone requires further information they can get me through our website."
