LOCAL travel agent Linda Hill headed to Holyrood as her campaign group representing the industry took their plight for extra financial support to the Scottish Government's doorstep.

We told last week how her firm, LAH Travel in West Kilbride, had lost £260,000 in profits during the past year after having to refund £3 million to customers for cancelled holidays. Linda has received backing from Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross in her campaign for the travel agent industry to get extra backing.

Scores of protesters turned up at a carefully co-ordinated socially distanced peaceful protest on Thursday.

Linda said: "Thank you to everyone for their support at the Hollyrood 'Keep Travel Alive' event. It was organised in partnership with the Scottish Passengers Agents Association, the Scottish trade body.

"We have been overwhelmed with everyone’s backing.

"Let's hope we have made a difference and can make the government listen."
