Train services between Glasgow Central and Largs were disrupted earlier this evening after a person was struck by a train.
The incident happened between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning at around 6pm.
Scotrail said: "Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning.
"All services between Glasgow Central - Ayr, Largs and Ardrossan are being disrupted.
"We're working closely with the emergency services and Network Rail have a Rail Incident Officer on their way to the site."
Trains to Largs were halted and disrupted, with ticket acceptance put in place on McGills Buses between Paisley and Largs.
All lines have now reopened however there have been no further details on the incident released by Scotrail.
