AN unforeseen watery problem for a new social housing development to help house the homeless and other vulnerable groups has been resolved.
The council have rubber-stamped a £75,000 payment to access a drainage connection for the new social housing at Balnagowan in Skelmorlie.
The village is a high demand area and the 27 new affordable homes for North Ayrshire residents provide a mix of general needs, amenity and wheelchair accessible homes.
The £4.298m project is supported by £2.428m Scottish Government grant.
Labour councillor Alex Gallagher said: "At a difficult time, it is a good thing that we have found the money to get the drainage issue fixed. This will be a very good development which will be a great help in meeting the social housing need for the area."
