Essential maintenance on the A78 between West Kilbride and Ardrossan will result in overnight road closures.
The work will take place from Monday November 30 to Saturday December 19 between the Waterside Hotel and The Rowan Tree Restaurant.
Preparatory work will take place from Monday November 30 to Monday December 7 using temporary traffic lights.
The main works will take place between Monday December 7 and Tuesday December 15, with a daytime convoy system in place.
Overnight road closures between 8pm and 6am will take place between Monday December 7 and Wednesday December 9, Friday December 11 and Saturday December 12, and Monday December 14 and Tuesday December 15.
The £450,000 scheme will improve the carriageway condition and reduce the need for extensive maintenance in the future on the road that carries more than 5,000 vehicles each day.
The scheme is weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
