Reports of a deer on the railway tracks resulted in services between Largs and Glasgow Central being temporarily delayed.
A spokesperson for ScotRail said: "We've had reports of a deer on the line in the Howwood area.
"Following animals on the railway earlier, all lines have now re-opened."
ScotRail had earlier warned of delays to the service affecting trains between Glasgow Central and Largs, Ardrossan and Ayr.
