The A760 between Largs and Kilbirnie is currently closed following accidents due to the wintry weather.
There have been reports from motorists that several cars were off road - and the area between the back gates to Kelburn Country Centre and the crematorium had icy conditions.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash on the A760 near Garnock Valley Crematorium involving five vehicles around 8.35am on Thursday, 3 December.
"There are no reports of any injuries, the road is closed and the council is attending."
One motorist told the 'News': "It was treacherous. There was one car off the Haylie at the second dam at 7am this morning."

The Met Office have a snow and ice warning in place for Ayrshire until midday today.
