Looking back in the News archives, we take a trip back to the build-up to Christmas in 1985 - and the town was buzzing with lots of festive spirit.
It is hard to believe it was 35 years ago.

And Skelmorlie sisters Jennifer Patrick and Jaymee Lee Walker are pictured with Santa during a coffee morning event.
And Fairlie Nativity at the Parish Church had plenty of 'stars' from the village recreating the manager in Bethlehem to great delight from the parents in the crowd - and it looked like it was smiles all round for the happy occasion.
