A TEAM of hardy runners braved the wind and rain to raise cash for Largs lifeboat.

The six brave ladies volunteered to take part in the RNLI Reindeer Run on behalf of the local cause.

Zoe Linton, wife of helmsman David, helped 'launch' the local event in windswept conditions and was supported by her friends, Gail Heaney, Joy Bruce, Dianne Ferguson, Zoe Linton, Helen Marshall and Joanna Findlayson.

All the brave wet girls were welcomed at the station by friends and family members around 1pm as they completed this gallant fundraising effort, covering distances of up to 30 miles.

Officials and crew at Largs Lifeboat Station wish to thank all those who participated in and supported the run.

Jo said: "I figured the RNLI would be a good charity as they do a lot of great work, and living on the coastline, you never know when you might need them.

"The other thing is that due to the Covid pandemic charities have been struggling this year so I was keen to do anything possible to help out."
