Morrisons will stop customers who refuse to wear face coverings from entering their premises amid concerns over rising Covid19 infections.
Shoppers who don't wear the coverings will be denied entry to the Irvine Road premises, unless they are medically exempt.
The move which is being introduced to Morrisons stores nationwide comes after concerns that social distancing measure are not being followed at times - concerns raised in the Largs and Millport Weekly News in the summer.
The announcement comes amid concerns that social distancing measures are not being adhered to in supermarkets.
Morrisons' chief executive, David Potts, said: "Those who are offered a face covering and decline to wear one won't be allowed to shop at Morrisons unless they are medically exempt.
"Our store colleagues are working hard to feed you and your family, please be kind."
