Cumbrae's replacement ferry has been out of action this morning due to a technical issue.
The MV Catriona - an electric hybrid ferry - has been operating the Largs/Cumbrae route while the MV Loch Shira is away for its annual maintenance check.
At 6.25 this morning, a Cal Mac tweet stated: "Due to a technical issue, service is currently suspended. There will be a review at approx 08:30."
Subsequently, Cal Mac say that the matter is still being investigated and will be reviewed at 12 midday."
Cal Mac say that another vessel is being diverted from Tarbert (Loch Fyne) to assist on the route.
A spokeswoman said: "It’s one of the hybrid vessels and there is an issue with power supply, but we are talking to the suppliers about it to get it sorted. MV Loch Riddon is coming over from Tarbert (Loch Fyne one) to work that route in the meantime."
At 11.45am on Wednesday morning, Caledonian MacBrayne signalled that the MV Catriona had been fixed, and was back in service on the Largs-Cumbrae route.
