West Scotland list MSP Jamie Greene has expressed concern that many very clinically vulnerable constituents have not yet received their invitation to a vaccination.

Jamie has written to NHS Ayrshire and Arran and the Cabinet Secretary for Health for clarity.

He says that he has received a lot of emails and phone calls from constituents who believe that they should have received their invitation to a vaccination because they have a major underlying health condition and believe that they are in the higher priority groups.

The MSP has also encouraged all constituents who are invited for a vaccine to attend their appointment, or let the vaccine hub know if they are unable to attend.

Jamie said: "I have written to the Health Board and the Cabinet Secretary for Health to help clarify the reasons for the delays.

“If you have a scheduled appointment please attend it or rearrange if you are unable to go - the failure to do so can result in wasted vaccines which we all want to avoid.

“Additionally, if you have not received your vaccine invite when you should have, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me and I will follow it up.”
