A LARGS gran who makes cakes for charity has been named as one of 30 inspirational women in the UK as part of a Morrisons campaign.
Janet Muir, 61, of Douglas Place in Largs, has been making cakes during lockdown to support her neighbour Elaine Maltby's fundraising effort to pay for vital cancer treatment.
Janet said she was proud to receive the recognition and hoped it would encourage others to do their bit for charity.
Morrison's Community Champion Lorraine Nicol said: "Throughout the years, Janet has supported various charities, raising thousands of pounds through sponsored cycles, swims, walks, tombola stalls, cake sales, charity auctions and even braved the shave for MacMillan cancer, raising over £2,000.
"We are so lucky to have Janet Muir as a friend of Morrisons and as a resident of Largs."
Janet told the News: "I hope other people are inspired to do their bit for charity, whether it is getting waxed, baking cakes or cycling round Cumbrae - just get out and do it."
