A surprise sighting of a swan at a popular pond in Largs was not all that it seemed on closer inspection.
The elegant white bird was observed at Aubery in video footage which was filmed before lockdown in 2020.
However, on closer inspection, something else was afoot.
The closer you look at the video, you will notice the the swan movements are more abrupt than natural, even mechanical in look.

The passer-by on the left hand side of the video had a remote control for the computerised Robo-swan.
GPS-guided robots disguised as swans are sometimes used by water quality measurements for researchers. The robots are built to resemble swans so that they can blend in with the environments they’re used in.
