Receiving two doses of the COVD-19 vaccine provides the fullest and longest lasting protection against the coronavirus.

As part of their mass vaccination programme, NHS Ayrshire & Arran has been working through second doses for those aged 65-79 who received their first dose in February. Turnout for the vaccination has been very high so far but anyone in this group who has received one dose is reminded of the importance of completing the second dose within the 12 week dosing schedule.

Any local patient who received a first dose vaccination between 1 and 14 February 2021 and has not received an appointment for their second dose in the post should contact 01563 826540.

“Please contact us if you fall into this category and we can arrange a second dose vaccination appointment at one of the many clinics running in Ayrshire.

“At the moment, the blue envelope second dose invitations are still arriving for people who received their first dose of vaccine from 15 February onwards. If you are in this group please be patient, your appointment time for second dose should be arriving soon. When the time comes, we look forward to welcoming you to roll up your sleeve at one of our vaccination centres.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support and patience as we deliver the mass vaccination programme for Ayrshire and Arr
