Fire crews on the Isle of Cumbrae have been praised after tackiing a dangerous grass fire last Friday afternoon on the Isle of Cumbrae.
The road had to be closed around the island on the B896 as the blaze was being tackled.
This spectacular drone footage from Mapes of Millport showed the extent of the blaze's impact in the surrounds.
A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "We were in attendance a large grass fire on the Isle of Cumbrae
"We received two or three 999 calls at around 3.13pm and two appliances were sent to the the scene.
"It is a large area of grass but no persons are involved and there are no casualties.
"The fire crews were there for quite some time and managed to make steady progress."
The island fire crew were in attendance for three and a half hours tackling the blaze.
