This was the surprise scene which greeted Largs and Millport residents as they woke up this morning.
Snow in May is a rarity but it has happened before, while Kaim Hill in Fairlie also had a covering, with sleet showers at low level at around 4.30pm yesterday.
Temperatures plummeted to 4 degrees celsius on Monday afternoon.
It was quite a surprise for May Bank Holiday given we have had short sleeved weather in recent weeks.
However, some businesses had to close early including The Tavern in Millport due to the cold conditions making the current outdoor hospitality situation for bars difficult.
Due to the miserable weather conditions for the next couple of days we will remain closed for the next couple of days...
