A packed West Kilbride beach on Sunday enjoyed a stunning view of a pod of dolphins passing up the Clyde.
Arndeil Bay was at its busiest all year with sun bathers, kayakers and swimmers - and they were treated to the spectacular sight.
One of the beach-goers told the News: "I haven't seen Ardneil Bay so busy in a long time.
"And we were all treated to seeing a pod of dolphins on Sunday about 2pm - it was brilliant to see.
"They were jumping right out the water, before heading along the north shore.
"It's the second time I have seen the dolphins at Ardneil in recent months - hopefully they will become regular visitors too!"
