THE Isle of Cumbrae Distillers are raising a glass after their gins triumphed in two international awards.

The ladies collected honours in the 2021 Gin Masters Awards and the International Wine and Spirits Competition.

Distiller Philippa Dalton says the feedback from the judges will be a great way to improve their Nostalgin and Croc Rock brands in the future.

She said: “We are delighted. This is another sign that we are doing the right things.

“The gold and silver medals we got in the Gin Masters Awards are just amazing, and we are just over the moon.

“Then we also found out that both our gins won bronze awards at the International Wine and Spirits Competition, which had over 1,100 entries from around the world.

“We have had very good feedback from both competitions and it will give us the opportunity to make our gins even better.”

The distillery officially started running tours in June, and Philippa believes they have been a huge success so far.

She explained: “It's been all five star reviews, which is really pleasing.

“The vast majority of people taking the tours are over visiting the island anyway, but some have come just to see us."
