The Scottish Government have announced that all young people under the age of 22 will be entitled to free bus travel in 2022.
The initiative starts on January 31 2022.
Transport Scotland have announced the schedule which will benefit nearly one million people in Scotland.
Legislation to bring in the changes will be discussed at the Scottish parliament later this summer.
It comes after a proposal for free travel for under 19s was lodged at Holyrood in January this year.
Transport Minster Graeme Dey said: "We know that young people have been disproportionately impacted as a result of the Covid19 pandemic so it's never been more important that we support them to achieve their fullest potential.
Graeme added that he was pleased to launch the new initiative which would reduced barriers created by transport costs and it would also have a positive environmental impact by reducing car mileage.
