The Largs Wilkies shop building is to go under the hammer at Future Property Auctions event on July 30.

The prime tenanted two story commercial building let to Wilkies on a ten year lease basis is described as 'a fantastic investment opportunity' with a major national tenant in place, and looking for an opening bid of £170,000.

A spokesperson for Future Property Auctions said: "The property comprises a substantial 2 storey commercial development of steel framed construction surmounted by a flat roof. The unit benefits from a prominent glazed frontage with extensive display windows with access gained via a partially recessed entrance leading to an open plan sales area. "The first floor is accessed via an open staircase with single return offering further sales area, storage and staff facilities."

The timed online auction takes place on 30 July 2021, from 10am-4pm. For more details, go here

Wilkies Scotland managing director Karen Forret told the News last month that they have no intention of leaving the town, and that the trading position at Wilkies in Largs remains healthy.

She said:  "We are finding that our stores in towns like Helensburgh, Peebles, Castle Douglas and Largs, where people go to visit for the day, are proving very popular as people are now avoiding bigger city centres and public transport, and of course, we do well as we have a loyal local customer base too.
