IN this week's look back through the photo archives, football was very much to the fore in the summer of 1989.
The Largs Boys' Brigade were flying high and were the proud battalion winners.
There are many familiar faces including Derek Boyd, Allan Wraith, Tony Blacklock, Alun Dicks, and Iain McCallum.
The Kelburn Primary football team were also pictured in the Wee Paper while every sinew was being stretched in the St Mary's Primary wheelbarrow race as they held their sports day on Largs Academy's playing fields.
There were other great events to capture back in 1989 outside of the sporting arena.
Trusty Millport photographer Walter Kerr was on hand to capture dinnertime on the beach next to Crocodile Rock while Kelburn Primary pupils were involved in a charity cheque presentation from Snips 'N' Snax.
Lots of kids were also pictured at St Columba's Episcopal Church Hall as it was converted into a summer theatre for a local playscheme.
