Irvine Meadow 2 Largs Thistle 1

Thistle looked to be in control of this PDM Buildbase West of Scotland League encounter at half-time thanks to a header from Will Sewell but Meadow came roaring back in the second half.
Sewell's speed was certainly disrupting the Meadow backline and there was a dramatic moment on 16 minutes as he chipped the keeper but was taken out by outrushing keeper Marc Waters just outside the area. See clip below.

The keeper was yellow carded for the foul and Jamie Ballentine's subsequent free kick was saved.
Thistle deservedly took the lead on the half hour mark as Will Sewell was on the end of a Ballantine cross from the right wing to head home at the left post. See clip below.

For the home side, Mick Wardrope replaced Fraser McMillan who had to be carried off with a nasty looking injury before half-time.

On 55 minutes, Jamie Martin weaved his way past defenders to get one on one with Jamie McGowan to swiftly tuck the ball home for the equaliser.

Meadow won a penalty as McLaughlin was ruled to have been impeded in the box - and Mark McLennan's spot kick just evaded the grasp of McGowan as the home side moved 2-1 up on 69 minutes. See clip below

Meadow had further chances while Ballentine went close with a header which sailed over the bar.

On 89 minutes, Largs were reduced to ten men when George Sewell received his second caution.

It was Thistle's fourth defeat on the spin, and Largs will be looking for a big response as they host Darvel on Saturday for a 2pm kick-off at Barrfields.
