Darvel made it 2-0 on 76 minutes after Scott Ferguson neatly converted after a good 1-2 which started at the edge of the area.

There were heated scenes between both sets of players after the full-time whistle was blown in a feisty finish to this encounter.

Thistle boss Stuart Davidson refused to criticise his players in the midst of an injury crisis, and praised them for their top quality play in the first hour - with Scott Adam and Will Sewell going close on several occasions -  and said the rub of the green has been going against them in recent games.

Despite the tough schedule of games, Largs have had spells of dominance against Auchinleck, Irvine Meadow and Darvel, and Davidson called for one final push for the last midweek game of the year at Pollok on Wednesday night.
