IT was a trip down memory lane as a former Clyde Coast service bus returned to Largs last month.

The now-defunct company existed for decades before Stagecoach took over the local Largs-Saltcoats route in the 1990s — and has had a long held connection with the town through its original founder Hugh Frazer.
Hugh operated the service for 16 years from the old Transport Company garage in Lade Street before passing away in October 1961.
His coaches regularly served Largs to Saltcoats and West Kilbride.
The News reported at the time of his death: “A man of genial disposition, generosity and integrity, Mr Frazer had many friends and his death will be regretted by all who knew him. His wife, who died five years ago, and who contributed much to his success, was Jenny Shields, a member of a well known Largs family.”
Clyde Coast Coaches sold its operation to Western in 1995.
It is believed that the classic coach had been hired to ferry guests to a local wedding when it was spotted in town at the weekend.
