IT is 'green' for go after Inverclyde Sports Centre opened its new golf facility.
The newly-redeveloped golf training centre will provide opportunities for people to practice, while also opening up the sport to people with disabilities.
The new training centre will provide golfers with a range of short game practice options.
Inverclyde has a proud golfing heritage and legendary golf coach, the late Bob Torrance, trained some of his proteges at the centre's old driving range, including Padraig Harrington.
A limited golf practice area had been on offer for many years; however, the new facility provides a complete redevelopment and significant upgrade.
New fencing has been erected around the perimeter to ensure safety, with access through a secure gate.
The centre will operate with pre-booked time slots for access, bookable online or by phone for members.
It includes five full target greens with three tee positions, six covered bays with synthetic tees, a designated performance putting green built to USGA standard, allowing for bunker play, play from rough and approach shots.
The site includes a para-golfer chair, and there will be a pro coaching bay
