Police are appealing for witnesses after a 46-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Largs on Tuesday, 16 November.
Around 00.15 am on Tuesday morning, the man was attacked and punched to the ground by a man at the bus shelter on Gallowgate Street, Largs.
He was taken by ambulance to Inverclyde Royal Hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries.
The suspect is described as white, aged between 18 and 30 years, of slim build, 5 ft 10 in height and was wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Fraser Murray, Saltcoats CID, said:
"Officers have been carrying our enquiries since this attack but are now appealing to anyone who was in the area at this time to get in touch. "Although it happened in the early hours of the morning, the pubs in the area were a bit busier than usual as earlier the night before Scotland had been playing Denmark, so I am sure as this was just after midnight and spilling time, people may have seen the attack or have information that will assist our enquiries."
Information can be passed to officers at Saltcoats CID via 101. Please quote reference number 0162 of 16 November, 2021, when calling. Alternatively, details can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
