A NEW nautical themed outdoor terrace is opening as part of an expansion by a popular eaterie at Largs Yacht Haven next month.

The Bosun's Table, based in the marina courtyard, is taking advantage of space to the rear of the premises with a £5,000 investment.
The new terrace includes upstanding boat hulls used as sitting areas, tables and stools and other sail decorations.
There will also be a heated beach hut area, with the aim of attracting dog walkers, cyclists and young people,
Owner Marshona Pendrill said: "The new outdoor area will be launched on December 2 and we hope to have an open day.
"We have also launched a new menu so if customers sit outside they can have more snack-like food like waffle fries and potato skins.
"We are trying to move the menu on a bit, to appeal to a younger audience.
"We are calling it Bosun's Backyard - which is basically what it is.
"I have always thought since taking over The Bosuns Table eight years ago that it was a nice space and we should do something with it.
"We have gravelled the surface and people can sit inside boat arches as part of the design.
"We will have comfortable cushions - and hae really tidied up the area and it looks marvellous."
The expansion marks a bright new era after Marshona revealed earlier this year that between all her businesses in Ayrshire that she had lost in the region of £500,000.
The premises also got a boost when the marina recently hosted a visit from UN ambassadors heading to the Cop26 Conference - with The Bosun's Table providing the catering at the Largs Sailing clubhouse.
Marshona said: "This year has been unique - people haven't been going abroad this year so we have seen Largs become a lot busier.
"I think things will return to the way they were beforehand, although I feel next year might be similar to this."
