Largs Thistle 1 Dundee North End 0

Thistle have reached the quarter finals of the Macron Scottish Junior Cup for the second time in three years courtesy of a tenth minute strike from Blair MacIntyre.
Largs were largely in control of this encounter but missed a glut of chances to add to their lead before the interval.
The second half was a more cagey affair but it was pleasing how Largs finished off this game, barely giving Dundee a touch of the ball in the final six minutes, as they determinedly saw this game out.
After two defeats on the spin, it was a nervy start from Largs who conceded a penalty after only five minutes.
Owen McCabe broke through on the right and was taken down by keeper McGowan as he raced through on the right of goal.
McGowan dived to his left to block Brian Rice's spot kick as McGoldrick was quickly there to knock the ball out of danger. See clip below.

It seemed to re-focus Largs who went on to dominate the first half.
Thistle netted the only goal of the game after a good passing move, MacIntyre getting on the end of it as he sent a sizzling diagonal effort low into the bottom left corner from ten yards.
On 16 minutes, Thistle top scorer Will Sewell was particularly unlucky as his well struck half volley from 18 yards came bouncing back off the crossbar and was hastily cleared. See clip below.

Four minutes later and Haggarty raced down the left and supplied MacIntyre through the middle but his low drive was smothered by the keeper.
McBryde's low drilled effort was spilled by the keeper as Adam had two shots blocked, McMaster then had an effort, and then Sewell was blocked in the melee before the visitors somehow cleared to safety. See clip below.

Another Haggerty bursting run down the left was brought to a halt by a Dundee foul as a quick free kick down the left released McMaster and his low driven cross into the penalty box was spilled by the keeper. Will Sewell and McGoldrick's efforts were both blocked on the line on 40 minutes.
Adam then held off McKelvie's attentions to reach the left byeline as Will Sewell fired in an effort which was blocked by the keeper then cleared off the line.
It was a very different second half as Dundee defended more resolutely and were getting more midfield play.
Indeed, Dundee had a penalty claim early in the second half after Jamie Montgomery's turn and shot was blocked by McGoldrick on 51 minutes. The Taysiders claimed that the shot came off McGoldrick's arm but he knew very little about it.
Adam went close with an effort on 53 minutes while Dundee gave Largs a real jolt with a good opening as livewire Montgomery blazed his effort narrowly wide on the turn.
This was the wake up call which Largs needed as they went on to confidently see out this game.
This was Thistle's first clean sheet in eight games - and has been a relatively rare occurrence this season but credit is due as Largs really fought hard to get through this, and have been rewarded with a final eight encounter with Petershill at home on March 12.
