Largs aces Jack Haggerty and Will Sewell say they can't wait to get going in 2022 after a fantastic finish to the year with four wins on the spin.


There was some fantastic festive sparkle on view from Largs against Bonnyton Thistle in the PDM West of Scotland Premier League.
Blair MacIntyre, Sean MacLeod, skipper Stuart Faulds, top scorer Will Sewell and Laurie McMaster were all on the scoresheet in the thumping win.
Will Sewell is top scorer for Thistle and has hit a phenomenal 19 goals this season in 19 appearances.
The sharp shooter said: "We weren't great in the first half - conceding the early goal resulted in having to dig ourselves out of a hole.
"But we came out flying in the second half and straight away we were on top and we scored some great goals,

"It was bizarre playing in that fog - if we had played for another 20 minutes the game could probably have been abandoned - you could barely see goal to goal.
Talking about his stunning goal to make it 4-1, Will said: "Simon McBryde has done well to get the ball down the line and I just hit it. 
"I had a couple of chances and had my weekly sitter but the goal kind of made up for it!"
Thistle winger Jack Haggerty has been one of the eye-catching players with his wing wizardry, having been a key player in recent weeks.
Jack said: "It was really good to get that win - that is us with three league wins on the bounce; now it is really tight and we want to kick on.
"The fog came at a perfect time - it really came down with ten minutes to go but it wasn't the worst but if it went any longer I would have been slightly worried of having the game called off.
"The ten men helped - and in the last 15 minutes of the first half we really started to play
"Half time - it can kill your momentum but the boys were absolutely buzzing in the dressing room and we knew the second half was ours, but it is easier said than done, you have to go out and do the business on the park and we did that.
"Everyone was all guns blazing and we ended up scoring four goals in the second half.
I do think a performance like that has been coming

"I feel that our position in the league does not reflect the squad we have got and now we want to get going in the new year and really get pushing up that table."
Largs have moved up a place to 16th in the 20 team league, and face 17th team Cumbernauld after the festive break on January 8 at Barrfields before a trip to Cumnock on the 15th.
With potentially seven team facing the trapdoor, Thistle are chasing wins to escape the relegation zone.
Largs have shown some great form at times and rounded off the year with four wins on the spin against Dundee North End, Glenafton Athletic, Yoker, and Bonnyton Thistle.
Stuart Davidson's side have every reason to look forward with confidence after pulling off some sparkling displays in recent weeks - and look a more compact outfit, only conceding three in their past four games. They are the only team in the bottom half of the table to have a positive goal difference of +2.
Largs also have the big Scottish Cup quarter final tie against Petershill to look forward to on March 12 2022.
