A lone sailor onboard a 27 foot yacht was rescued by Largs Lifeboat after the vessel suffered mechanical failure.
The emergency call out came at 2.35pm on January 4 after the outboard engine bracket had failed.
Due to the strong winds, the vessel was not able to make it back to Port Bannatyne marina.
A member of the lifeboat crew boarded the yacht and assisted the sailor to set up a tow line.
The yacht was subsequently berthed at the marina with assistance of Rothesay Coastguard Rescue Team.

After grateful thanks from the yacht owner, the lifeboat returned to Largs for re-fuelling.
Largs RNLI Helm, Dave Stevens, said: ‘Although the owner of the yacht was a very experienced sailor and the yacht was well maintained, there are times when somethings can go wrong and this was the case today. Luckily, the sailor knew that he was in trouble and broadcast a Pan Pan alerting the UK Coastguard of his situation and need for assistance.’
