The Largs Thistle versus Pollok match on Saturday was temporiarily suspended on Saturday for a pitch invasion of the fourlegged variety.

It was wuff justice after the canine made a run for it and could be seen speeding down the wing before racing across the pitch to join in the action.

But the playful pooch's pedigree form was ruled offside as the owner raced on to the Barrfields pitch to retrieve his pet in hilarious scenes while players looked on in bemusement .

Videos of the dog invasion sparked laughter from the terraces as well as around the internet as the video received over 100,000 hits. See clip below.

One football fan responded: "He's got a reputation for hounding the referee" while another quipped: "Hoping he doesn't get too hot under the collar and can help claw us out a victory."

There were no bones about it that Largs put up a good effort on the day against the league leaders who were hanging on till their 1-0 lead before adding a late second on the counter.
